Little Song Parent-Child Club (ages 15 months-3 years)

Little Song is a parent-child group designed for young children aged 15 months to their third birthday, and their parents or caregivers (infant siblings welcome at no additional cost).

An experienced facilitator guides parents through a morning of
hiking, outdoor exploration, circle time (stories, songs, and fingerplays), snack, and nature-based art and sensory activities. The program offers a wonderful way to meet other parents and build an early connection to nature.

Our monthly and weekly themes are based on what we observe around us at our location in central Ames, and follow the rhythms of the seasons.

Families should come dressed and prepared for being outside and getting messy, regardless of weather. We will hike to the nearby woods at an adult pace, then slow to "child pace" as we make our way to a play spot in the woods (you may want a child carrier or backpack). Once each month, we will stay onsite and explore the playscape instead of hiking. We will meet in the preschool room when the weather is too cold.

Children 15 months to their third birthday plus a caregiver (younger siblings welcome). Children ages 3 to 5 may enroll in morning preschool for that day (when space and staffing allow). We offer one free trial day before committing to a session.

Class size is limited to 8 families
